So last night I posted on Facebook & twitter that I was going to be trying out Bbold's medium/dark tanning lotion.
Today I'm going to be giving the tans ingredients,my step by step guide, products used and my over all option aswell as star rating!
So let's get started with the most asked questions ..
What's in this tan?
The bottle of tan itself states that it's enriched with Aloe Vera, Cocoa butter & vitamin E. With premium high grade DHA it provides a rich natural tan.
How is the tan packaged?
I love the packaging!! The black plastic bottle is unlike most tans. The use of the white and pink are eye catching not to mention the name. My favourite part about the packaging is undoubtably the pump. It makes application so much easier.
The texture of the product?
This product is lotion based.I'm used to a mouse so was skeptical about how it would turn out..! How wrong was I! The fact that it was a lotion meant that application was smoother, quicker and overall the tan was easier to blend.
Does this product have a distinct smell?
Yes!! But not in that kind of way. I find most tans have a very deep smell. With this though, it's subtle. Described as being scented with delicate calla Lily and pink Peony, with a base of vanilla orchid, it's as if you've entered a small flower shop.
What colour is this product?
This product is a very deep brown, which is very reassuring that it won't turn orange. It also means that you can see exactly where it's being applied.
Where can this product be purchased:
Sam Mc Cauley chemists, Mc Cabes Chemists, as well as selected other phramacies. You can also buy this from their very own website @ b-bold.co.uk
How much is this product?
I've recently seen this product on sale for as little as €9 in selected chemists. It's Normal retail price is around €18 and you can get it for around €13 on b-bold.co.uk at the moment as they have a sale on so be quick girls!!
HOW I APPLIED THIS PRODUCT:
Step one: I showered the night previous and made sure I used Marissa Carter's Tough Stuff scrub to remove all dead skin.
Step two: after showering I moisturised thoroughly, ensuring I applied slightly more moisturiser to my elbows, knees and feet!
Step three: approximately 24 hours later I used a tan mitt to apply the product. In doing this I decided to pump the product directly onto the body and use the Mitt to blend in circular motions.
Step four: after using around 6-8 small pumps I was finished with the tan. Because I bought the medium to dark I used little product as I wanted a more daytime wearable tanning look. If I was doing my tan for a night out I would intact use more.
Step five: I went to bed with the tan on and waited approximately 10 hours to let the tan develop fully.
Step six: this morning I lightly washed off my tan ensuring I didn't scrub any areas too heavily. I waited until the water ran clear.
Step seven: I waited an hour or so after my shower before applying my moisturiser. I do this with every tan however with this tan it's not a vital step as the tan itself is full of moisturising agents.
Overall opinion..
I love this tan!! This is most definitley going to be my new holy grail tan. I love how moisturising it is, and how it can't be mistaken as an orangey colour due!
I also love that it's easy to apply, spreadable, the smell isn't too overwhelming, and there is no sticky/ tacky feeling after applying.
I have quite dry skin and would most definitley recommend it to girls who have similar problems. It's so lightweight it doesn't even feel like I'm wearing a layer of tan.
Star rating: 4.5/5
I personally can't wait to try the other products in this range.
Remember to check out b-bold.co.uk for more details girls 👍❤️
Until next time,
Aoife 💋
